ESPN has suspended Tony Kornheiser for making inappropriate comments.
Apparently while rambling on PTI, Kornheiser described an outfit Hannah Storm was wearing at ESPN last week as “horrifying,” saying her shirt was too tight and looked “like she has sausage casing wrapping around her upper body.”
Uh … why was he suspended?
I’m genuinely confused. Is the sausage casing thing a sexual reference? Or was it ripping another ESPN employee? Or was it someone being in a bad mood?
Truth is, Hannah Storm is a bad dresser. That’s no crime–hell, so I am. But as The Big Lead pointed out, there’s a drastically different standard for men and women at ESPN. Men—suits, ties. Women—some crazy, crazy, Big Apple Circus-esque stuff. I’m an admirer of Hannah’s—think she and Josh are, by far, the top SportsCenter tandem. But does she dress sorta badly? Without question.
