One of the most awkward things I’ve ever seen in sports …

This is pretty remarkable.

I’ve covered some awful owners in my day. Some awful GMs and managers and coaches, too. I don’t know Joe Lacob, but I do know the fans were pretty classless here.

That said, if Knick fans were booing and heckling James Dolan, I’d be the happiest man on earth. So, well, hey.

I disagree that the fans were classless. You don’t get very many opportunities in life to let ownership know you’re unhappy as a fan. Now, if they booed Chris Mullin, that’d be a totally different story…

A lot is said about Philadelphia fans or Boston fans, but make no mistake…Bay area fans have the most toxic mix of nastiness and arrogance out there.

they’ve won 1 playoff series in the last 20 years (which they weren’t supposed to win). I think they have a right to boo.

Once again, Jeff Pearlman has produced an exhaustively researched, elegantly written book that re-creates one of the most colorful and memorable teams of the modern era. No basketball fan's bookshelf will be complete without it.
